Fiat car logo
Fiat S.p.A., (Fabbrica Italiana Automobili Torino
or the  Italian Automobile Factory of Turin, is an Italian automobile manufacturer, engine manufacturer, financial, and industrial group based in Turin in the Italian region of Piedmont.

Fiat was founded in July 11, 1899 at Palazzo Bricherasio by a group of investors, including Giovanni Agnelli, who became the Managing Director of the company in 1902 due to his strategic vision and recognitions.

The Fiat logo has a long story of evolution from past to the present. Fiat’s first logo is a five bar logo on the Uno in 1982. The Fiat design was realized when Chief Mario Miaoli driving past the Mirafiori factory at night saw the giant Fiat logo on the top of the plant, which was set against the fading light of the sky. He sketched five bars that represented the spaced he had seen between the letters.

At present, the Fiat logo was revised into a more attractive and stylish to promote their brand-new  philosophy of rapid overhaul and technological research for new car designs and providing improvement in everyday life of its consumers. It was created jointly by Robilant associate, a specialized agency for Brand advisors and strategic design and the Fiat Style Center. The symbol is inspired by the famous shield that decorated the front of Fiat cars from 1931 to 1968 in vertical manner and elongated letters represented by the word ‘FIAT’ with a ruby-red  background and encased in a chromed round frame. The three-dimensional effect brings the idea of technology, its Italian origin and dynamism. It simply presents an ongoing change from its past to the present success.

Aside from road cars, Fiat has also manufactured railway engines and carriages, military vehicles, and aircraft in the history. It has in addition built enterprises in all continents of the world. Thus, it was considered as the world’s ninth largest car maker and in Italy for 2009.
