Car Logos is an encyclopedia of car badges. We explain what each emblem means, where it came from and how it changed over the years.
What you’ll find here
Every brand on the site has its own page. It tells the story behind the name and the emblem, the meaning the carmaker itself gives the logo, the main versions of the badge, a few landmark models and quick facts such as country, founding year and founder. You can browse all brands from A to Z on the home page, or filter them by region, era and type.
How we check the facts
Logo history is full of myths, so we start with the carmakers’ own sources: their history and heritage pages, museums, newsrooms and press releases. Where those are silent, we look for at least two reliable independent sources that agree. Logo websites and general encyclopedias are used only as hints. Popular theories are labelled as theories, and when sources disagree on a date or a detail, we leave it out rather than guess.
We are rewriting older pages to this standard one brand at a time, so some pages are more detailed than others.
Trademarks
All car logos, names and trademarks shown on this site belong to their respective owners. They are shown for identification and editorial purposes only. Car Logos is an independent website and is not affiliated with, sponsored or endorsed by any carmaker.
