Geely Automobile Holdings Ltd exists on its parent company, the Zhejiang Geely Holding Group as a private automobile manufacturer. It was born on 1986 under Li Shufu as a refrigerator-maker company with a capital borrowed from his family. He then transformed his company into a successful private automaker to his fellow Chinese consumers in tier-3 and four cities with headquarters based in Hangzhou, Zhejiang, People’s Republic of China.  In the later years of establishment, it was included in top ten Chinese automakers in the world.  It received an award for its innovation system in 2010, “The Enterprise with Most Achievements of the Decade Award” and “The Enterprise with Most Progress of the Decade Award,” are just a few of the honors that this company had received over the years.

The company’s name Geely in Chinese script (吉利; pinyin: Jílì) means “auspicious” or “lucky” in Mandarin Chinese. This seems to have spread luck in the business since the company continues to receive awards of performance and rise in sales up to date. And one proof they bought Volvo cars from Ford in 2010.
